Riddle's Shop

I have always understood the name of the engagement on June 13 1864 to be Riddell's Shop, pronounced like the word "riddle." On a recent visit to the area, I heard it pronounced "Ri DELL's; and I noted that the historical marker at the Gelndale crossroads spells the name consistent with the latter pronunciation. Which is correct?
