James Leith [sic], 1st Corporal, Company D, 18th Regiment Virginia Cavalry, recorded present at the Jan/Feb, 1863 muster, dated March 26, 1863 at Camp Washington, no other records

Note, the next surviving Company D muster roll is that for the period Jan 1 to Oct 31,1864, not dated. As he does not appear, he must have been dropped from the rolls for some reason during the intervening period

The 18th Regiment Virginia Cavalry was organized about December 15, 1862, with ten companies, A to K, most of the members of which had previously served in the 1st Regiment Virginia Partisan Rangers (subsequently the 62nd Regiment Virginia Infantry)
