Men named "Luther Poole" served in Company K, 27th South Carolina Infantry, and in Company B, 1st Battalion South Carolina Infantry. Possibly the same man, since the 27th South Carolina was not organized until September 30th 1863. If you know where this man lived, then you can probably tie him to one or both of the units.
