7th Virginia Regiment; Harris Co, Ashby's Cavalry

LOOKING for my Great-Great-Great-Great-Grandfather JOHN H. BOON/BOONE
who fought in the 7th Virginia Regiment; Harris' Company/Ashby's Cav-
alry Unit - from Hampshire (or) Hardy County, "Old" Virginia/now W.Va.

If anyone has any helpful information regarding my ancestor: "Private"
Confederate Soldier: JOHN H. BOON(E); (and what battle he last fought
and possible died in, and his possible burial "whereabouts"). I would
be SO grateful and appreciative... :)

I was told that his (WIDOW) Ruth. E. Boon(e) had attempted to file a
claim, dated July 13th, 1863. But it was turned down; since she now
lived in what was considered West Virginia Territory - but before the
Civil War broke out; John and Ruth and their children lived in "Old"
Hardy and Hampshire County, Virginia.

So I'm "assuming" that my G.G.G.G.-Grandfather JOHN H. BOON(E), must
have died (sometime around July 13th, 1863). But where? And what
Battle?

Thanks for all your time and help on this... Have a "blessed" day!
