Re: 7th Virginia Regiment; Harris Co, Ashby's Cava

JR,

Thanks for the helpful information; regarding the different forming
units... I've often heard, that how some "new" units were quickly
formed - and "possible muster-rolls (or) records" were not kept up
"or" lost, or damaged by the war. So Maybe that's why I'm not able
to find anything on my John H. Boon(e)...

I'm wondering if that John W. Boone (could be the same as my John
H. Boone)? Same unit, same ranking...

Have you ever heard "or" seen any So-so HARRIS; that formed a unit
Company "along with Turner Ashby's Cavalry?" Because, I read some
info on Ashby, but it didn't mention any "Harris" fighting with him.

I've often wondered about the Manassas, and Upperville Battles.
And wondered if my John H. Boon(e) might of been part of the Hamp-
shire Rifflemen, from "Old" Virginia - present day West Virginia;
before enlisting into the 7th Virginia Regiment; Harris' Co, Ashby's
Cavalry.

Thanks,
Rebecca Wilson
