Re: Looking for Rector PILES/Pyles from Va/W.Va.

Dear. Debi,

Hello, there. Yes, I'm sure somehow, my PILES and your Amos
Poland knew eachother in some way; for "both families" having
lived at the same "Snyder Store" and buried in the same Rock
Oak Cemetery... But I'm (assuming) that your Amos Poland was
related somehow, (either as a cousin or a possible uncle; to
James Reuben Poland, who married my Great-Great-Aunt Mary Me-
lissa "Molly" PILES/Pyles. Because from what I can see in my
PILES/Pyles family notes. James R. and Mary M.(Piles)Poland
had the following children:

1)Sarah Ellen Poland (b) 1889 (d) 1890 (Never married).
2)Grover Arnold Poland (b) 1892 (d) 1974 (m) Edna Ellen Carder.
3)Estella Wade Poland (b) 1897 (d) 1947 (m) Edward Haines.
4)William Melvin Poland (b) 1900 (d) 1982 (m) Gladys Viola

Haenftling.
5)Nelson Burnett Poland (b) 1907 (d) 1938 (m) Myrtle Virginia

Pultz.
6)Dailey Lee Poland (b) 1910 (d) 1959 (1st m) Mae Lucinda Kline,

(2nd m) Ethel Marie Kline;

Mae's sister...

But sorry, None of them married into the Blackburn family...

Anyway. Here's what all I was able to find on Amos Poland,
under the Ancestry World Tree Project: Not sure if this is
your Amos Poland, or not. Could your Amos Poland have been
married "twice"???

1)Amos Poland (b)Abt 1775 in New Jersey
Father: Aaron Poland
Mother: N/A.
Spouse: Comfort Hopkins

2)Amos Poland (b)ABT 1797 in Georges Creek, Alleghany Co, MD
Father: Martin C. Poling
Mother: Lettice Ann Unknown
Spouse: Sarah Sturm

3)Amos Poland (b)Dec. 19, 1816 in Hampshire County, Virginia
Father: Amos Poland
Mother: Comfort Hopkins
Spouse: Catherine Louisa (N/A).

(Noted) I'm almost betting this last Amos Poland from Hamp-
shire Co, Va/W.Va., is "either your Amos Poland," or related
somehow...

Sorry, but maybe one of these might be of some help to you...

(And, here's what I was able to find on a Thomas Blackburn):

1)Thomas Benton Blackburn (b)Nov. ?, 1841 in Hampshire Co., Va.
Father: Joseph Blackburn
Mother: Elizabeth (N/A)
S: Sarah Ellen Aronhalt

(And, Here's what I was able to find under LDS Familysearch.org
under "Pilot Search Records"):

(Under Martha Jane Blackburn) Under the (1853-1970) West Virginia
Death Records. (Also Noted) You can also find this same record
under the West Virginia Culture of Division (Website) below:

http://www.wvculture.org/vrr/va_select.aspx

(And, Under the LDS 1880 Census Records for Amos Poland): It
showed: 1880 Census for a Amos Poland and family, living in the
Hampshire Co, W.Va., area.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help to you. But, don't give up...
Sooner or later, someone "else" looking for your kin, will try
to make a connection - and by posting your information on as
many websites as you can; you will make a connection I'm sure.

Ps: Have you try posting a "query" under Rootsweb.com? Another
good website is: UsGenweb.com, and Findagrave.com.

Good luck with your search, and hope you make a connection. :)

Take care,
Rebecca Wilson :)
