Re: maps of town of Culpeper and vicinity

I am not for sure which battle you are interested in. My interest was on what occurred there on September 13, 1863. A charge was led by Captain Samuel Coyner of Company D, 7 Virginia Cav (of which my grandfather served) and he was shot and mortally wounded. My mother use to tell the story that her father had two captains during the war- one was shot by the Yankees and the other one was hung. As it turns out one was shot and the other one, Captain George Washington Summers was executed after the war in the Kootz-Summers Affair. I wanted to try to find the location and after research I believe that I came within a hundred yards or so of the location. I did not visit the Brandy Station area. I should add that I have a vial of dirt that I collected and labeled as such from the area.
