Jefferson Davis notebooks

I am a history graduate student at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. I am currently doing some Civil War studies with Terry L. Jones http://www.mcgraw-hill.co.uk/html/0073022047.html I discovered this semester that the R.W. Norton Art Gallery has three handwritten notes books from President Jefferson Davis. I have been in contact with the director of rare books and special collections there. She has assured me that the notebooks are “authentic” and “unpublished.” I was told that due to library reinvasions there was currently no space for researchers. Within six months to a year they will begin the digitizing process on the Jefferson Davis notebooks. So eventually these notebooks will be available online. I just wish that this would happen sooner than later. I have very curious as to what new information these notebooks will yield. If you are interested in this topic then please contact the R.W. Norton Art Gallery and ask them to speed up the digitization process. http://www.rwnaf.org/ Thank You
