Thanks for the advice Dave. I may contact Dr. Crist sometime in the future. Right now, I want my university to have first access to these books. I have been told that I will be able to assist in the digitization process of them. I just wish I could do it now. The Norton Art Gallery is really short staffed and I think they put me on the back burner because they consider the Jefferson Davis notebooks to be merely some obscure pieces of long forgotten history. They have had the books for sixty years and I am the first person to ask to read them. I wonder if they would speed up the digitization process if there was more interest in the books.
