West Virginians at Gettysburg

I thought some of you might be interested in the fact that there were far more West Virginians in gray at Gettsyburg than in blue. You would never know this from reading West Virginia history, it's just one of the many things our historians forget to mention, but I thought it should be. Of the Union units at Gettsyburg from West Virginia, Artillery Co. C was from Ohio, the Ist WV Infantry had about 62% Ohio and Pennsylvania men, the 7th WV Infantry was about 40% Ohio & Pennsylvania. Only the 3rd WV Infantry was mostly West Virginians.
