David Tester has a small file in footnote.com, which is available free for the time being. Go to Original Documents, Civil War Service Records, Confederate Records, Civil War Soldiers Confederate Misc. It shows that David Tester, unspecified unit, was paid at Jonesville, Va., on 28 April 1863 for rations commuted while he was hospitalized, sick, 11 to 26 Feb. 63. The officer commanding [Jonesville?] had a last name of Fowlkes or Foulkes. You may be able to find something on him also in footnote.com.
