On Jermiah Fairburn's application for pension he listed he served under Col Ashby,and after Ashby was killed he served under col.Jones he stated he was taken prisoner at the battle of or near brandy station .He stated on the 3rd day of feb. 1864 he was sent to looks like neads or maybe meads bull pen prison and was confined there 6 weeks then to washington D.C.and discharged.ATthe surender of the war he was in new orleans,LA.He also states he took the oath of allegiance in 1864. His writing is not to good ,you cant make out every word. Hope tish will help,he appiled for his pension in louisiana but was denied one. He was given a head stone and is burried on what use to be his land in Tangipahoe parish.He died on the 4 of june 1917. I ordered his service records from the board but some paper are in poor shape.
