Danforth's 1st Regt Va Reserves

There was evidently a second (July 1864) command titled "1st Va Reserves," aka Col. Danforth's 1st Regt Second Class Militia (City of Richmond), per Lee Wallace, "Guide to Va Mil Orgs," p. 219. In Co. E was (per NPS S&S listing, from M382, r10) a Private Felix H. Cave, in whom I am interested. I presume that this was a unit of "civil servants" on stand-by for defense of the city, but have associated another soldier who was detached for clandestine operations on the Potomac with the Signal Corps. Wallace gives the company commander as a Capt. William R. Branch, Co. E, Farinholt's Bn VA Reserves and cites rosters showing org 23 Apr 1864, and company mustered 23 may 64. Unit not in Crute. Does anyone have access to these rosters that might show departmental affiliation of men in Co. E, if they were from the same bureau; to information on Felix H. Cave; or the Col. Danforth -- might that have been Henry Delaplaine Danforth, per REL Krick, "Staff Officers"?
