Re: Danforth's 1st Regt Va Reserves

The volume of the Va. Regimental Histories Series entitled "Reserves," by Patti and Jeff Weaver, lists Felix H. Cave as a member of Co. E., 1st Va. State Reserves. This regiment was a different unit than the 1st Va. Reserves commanded by Col. Benjamin L. Farinholt. The 1st Regt. Va. State Reserves was commanded by Col. John B. Danforth. Captain Christopher Q. Tompkins commanded Co. E, which was composed of men aged 45 to 55 "living between 7th and 14th Streets" in Richmond. Capt. Thomas J. Spencer succeeded Tompkins in command of the company. Felix Cave of Co. E. was listed as present on 3/31/64 and 8/31/64.
