5th virginia regiment company L

My gggrandfathers, james c. atkins and jacob frymoyer(actually frymyer) also spelled frymire. frymier. both served in the same regiment, and company as far as i can find. Both from augusta county Va. does anyone know if or what battles they may have fought in? if jacob was mustered into service in harpers ferry, does that mean he fought there or was stationed there? I am so interested in this, and would appreciate any help. jacob was a shoemaker, and enlisted in active service May 11 1861 in sangerville Va. by oswald f. grinnan. and mustered into service may 22nd 1861 in harpers ferry by w,m. mcdonald. then No of iles to place to muster in 144? does that mean he walked there, or marched? i do not have as much info on james clarke atkins( james c. atkins.) could anyone help with this? Please if there is any info let me know, Thank You! Kathy
