Re: Battle of Bull Run/Manassas ;John DYNAN

Hi John,
Thanks for your help, it just seems to be impossible to find anything more out about him. In fact I'm going back to basics and I'm starting to wonder...all the info I have I believe is true, however as my John Dynan (who entered New York in 1850 on the Lady Franklin) had a son who was born in 1830 also called John Dynan I am beginning to wonder if the JD who died at Bull Run/Manassas could possibly have been the son and not the father!! All we know for certain is 'he' died at Bull Run/Manassas and the uniform etc was sent home to his family, but if it was the son who died it could still have been sent home to his 'mother' and his age would be more appropriate for the Civil War.
But then the question of 'her' receiving a pension is raised! Could she have received a pension as his mother with other younger dependant children if his father had already died?...However I can't find a death for him (the father) either!
I hoped that going back to basics would help. Hope this makes sense. Thanks.
