Uniform

If you do find a picture of one of the 33rd soldiers in uniform it will probably be either an officer or an early war or post war image. In the perfect world Confederate Soldiers were issued uniform parts on a needed basis quarterly. The uniform changed slightly during the war and actually got better in qualitative and quantity as the war progressed. Very seldom did uniform coats and pants matched in color or material since they were issued at different times as they wore out. The 33rd most likely drew its uniform from the Depot in Richmond. Expand your search for soldiers in the Stonewall Brigade. All probably drew their uniforms from the Richmond Depot so a soldier in the 33rd looked much like any other soldier in the brigade.
