The Confederate Inspection Reports are located in NARA Microfilm M935, which consists of (I think) 20 or so rolls. I found a reference in Joe Glatthaar's (sp?) book on the ANV that Rolls 10-16 definitely contain inspection reports for the ANV. However, I've come across several other references to Roll 3 for some brigades. Does anyone know for sure which rolls I need to cover all of the inspection reports for the Army of Northern Virginia? They aren't cheap when purchasing in CD format directly from the NARA so I need to be sure before I buy. One result of my transcription efforts is that I plan to create an index for each roll I end up purchasing and make the indices freely available online at my site for interested researchers. I'm in the process of doing that for Roll 10 right now, and Roll 11 is on its way in the mail as I type this. If anyone who has experience with these rolls can provide me with some guidance I would greatly appreciate it.
