Hello:
I am researching my GGG Grandfather Austin Bowman who served in Company K of the 50th VA Infantry. While researching Austin, I found that 6 of his brothers also served in the Confederate Army, all of which were from Patrick County. Here is a snapshot of the memebers of the Bowman family from Patrick County VA that served:

John "Anderson" Bowman - Co I, 45th VA Infantry
Austin Bowman - Co K, 50th VA Infantry
John M Bowman - Co K, 50th VA Infantry
Elias Bowman - Co I, 45th VA Infantry
Calvin "Crockett" Bowman - Co K, 50th VA In- Infantry - KIA on July 2nd 1863 at Gettysburg
Reuben Bowman - Co K, 50th VA Infantry
Henry Bowman - Co K, 50th VA Infantry - Died a POW in NY

I cannot verifty so far if the youngest son, Franklin Bowman born in 1845 served, or if the father William Bowman also from Patrick County served as well. If anyone has come across letters, stories, etc... concering this part of the Bowman family, any information would be gladly appreciated. Thank You !
