* The 136th Regiment Virginia Militia (also known as 3rd Regiment, 7th Brigade, Virginia Militia) was called out by proclamation of the Governor of Virginia, dated July 13, 1861. Companiues A to H are found to have served until September 9, 1861, when discharged. They were again called out by order of Gen. Johnston, dated October 21, 1861, mustered in for six months from various dates in November, 1861, and discharged in the spring of 1862
