I am looking for information on him. He was from Rockingham County, VA. I believe he was in the militia and his unit was called up and integrated into the army in 1861. He may have had battalion commander status in the militia. His son, or one of his sons, John Campbell Sherfey, was my great grandfather. Reuben Sherfey died sometime between 1881 and 1884.
