Really odd records. His DEVER POW records indicate Co. I 7th VA Inf. ; Co. G 7th Va. Inf. Co. G 7th VA Cav.; and Co. G 7th Miss. Inf.

We have no records of his being on any roster of the 7th Regt. Miss. as Dever or Devier. His brothers Giles and Hiram were in 7th VA Cav. I also noted a Allen Devier in the 31st VA. Inf. and an Alvin Devier in 1st MO. Cav.

I would prefer not removing him from our 7th Miss. roster, but I find no reason for any 7th Miss. men to be in Rome, GA in June 1864. I also find no reason for a man from the 7th VA. Inf. or Cav. to be there either.

I am not sure where the 31st VA Inf. was at that time or if through some consolidation the 7th Cav. was with the 31st. Need a little Virginia regimental history help.
