Thanks very much Jim. My GGGrandad Marion England was enlisted in the 1st Alabama Infantry "Loomis" Battalion in St Clair county Al. He signed up in Sept.and was transported to or near the Ft where his death cert says he died in Oct. 1861 of measles. The 25th Alabama Infantry Regiment was organized in Jan 1862 at Mobile by the consolidation of Col.Loomis 1st and McClellan’s 6th Alabama Infantry Battalions. Strangely, Marion was the only one who died at the Ft as others during the same time died while camped at a site nearby called "Barlows Mill".
