Re: Casualties in Lockhart's Battalion at Chehaw

Again citing from memory, I believe there's a report of the action at Chehaw Station filed under James L. Davidson, Capt. of Co. "F", 11th Alabama Infantry Regiment:

James LaFayette Davidson. Resigned July 5, 1862, due to ill health. Appointed 1st Lieutenant (P.A.C.S.) and Drillmaster September 20, 1862, to rank August 28, 1862; assigned to duty at Camp Buckner, Talladega, Alabama. [DAB3:456; UA/54]

Davidson was appointed Lieut.Col. of the 1st Alabama Junior Reserve Regiment.

Here are the companies:

Company “A” of Bibb and Perry Counties -------- “Lockhart Cadets”
Company “B” of Calhoun and St. Clair Counties -- “Tom Watts Cadets”
Company “C” of Shelby and Talladega Counties -- “Bridge Guards”
Company “D” of Perry County -------------------- “Stonewall Cadets”
Company “E” of Calhoun and Talladega Counties
Company “F” of St. Clair and Randolph Counties
Company “G” of Talladega County ---------------- “Sam Morgan Cadets”
Company “H” of Calhoun and Blount Counties
Company “I” of Bibb, Perry and Dallas Counties -- “Rosser Reserves”
Company “K” of Greene and Bibb Counties
