The POW records on microfilm answer many of these questions, but some record groups are missing. For instance, I failed to locate any of the Talladega or Montgomery paroles.

While looking at CMH XII, I noticed a total for paroles issued, which was 174,223, vs. total enrolled on Jan. 1, 1865, which was 439,675. We might assumed that many of those who were at home on on detached duty never received paroles.
