Oh Jim: thanks! that has to be him..the 27th was Capt. Roberts Company of the New Market Rebels..who is also buried at Mount Paran Campground Cemetery at New Market..off Winchester Rd... now if we can track down some of his descendants..and maybe his record...wonder if was at Fort Donaldson when it fell? any info would be great..I'll let you know if and when we do another Confederate Memorial service there.. of the 16 or 20 soldiers buried there..so many of the old gravemarkers were destroyed in 1966 when Claude Lawler-a timberman- illegally cut and sold many of the ancient old cedar trees.. his present marker is broken and partially buried.. not to far from the Samuel Davis of the Revolutionary War...
