DeKalb Williams. Promoted Captain [June 1,] 1863, to rank March 18, 1863. Wounded at Chickamauga, Georgia, September 20, 1863. Col. Oates writes, "He was a faithful soldier, almost always present for duty." Also wounded at Sharpsburg MD (Sept. 17, 1862), "He continued faithfully at his post and commanded his company up to the surrender. He was not a brilliant man, nor an officer of reckless daring, but of fair intelligence, and performed his duty cautiously, but faithfully". His name doesn't appear on the roster of members who surrendered at Appomattox C. H.

Simeon A. Williams. Promoted Captain [May 11,] 1864, to rank February 28, 1864. Wounded at White Oak Road, Virginia, March 31, 1865; captured at Jarrett’s Station, Virginia, April 2, 1865. Released at Fort McHenry, Maryland, June 10, 1865. This company was formerly Co. "B", 3rd Battalion, Hilliard's Alabama Legion.

I'll have to look up the enlisted man. Please mention any other questions you may have.
