Re: Pou's Company - Mississippi Devils

Alan,

One such "Pou's Company" was the "Autauga Rifles" Company G of the 6th Alabama Infantry, so dubbed while under the command of Leiws Alexander Pou, elected Captain April 28, 1861. Of course, the 6th was part of the Army of Northern Virgina and did not serve at Island No. 10.

Lewis Alexander Pou was born August 23, 1836 in Franklin County Alabama and died December 24, 1902 in Pensacola, Florida. He was the son of Rachael A. E. Golson and John Wesley Pou. The family ended up in Autaugaville, Alabama. Lewis married on January 19, 1869 to Caroline Salome Robinson.
