You are so correct. The dates are in error and I should have seen this. I have been doing so much research that I can hardly think. The dates are not correct but the ancestorial line is correct. The fact that all three served in the CSA is correct. The Montevallo (Alabama) News 08-15-1895 is not correct when they reported that Braz Pickett came to Alabama in 1815, with his father Abner. Abner was the father of James Pickett and Braziel Pickett was the grandson of Abner. So even the newspapers make mistakes.

I am pretty sure that all three of their regiments and companies are correct. James Pickett is listed on the Woodlawn National Cemetery Website as being buried in the CSA section grave 86. He was 44th Alabama Volunteer Compnay H formed 05-01-1862 at Randolph in Bibb County Alabama "Dawson's Raiders". He was enlisted on 03-10-1863 by T.L. Morrow. He was indeed captured at Gaines Farm on 05-03-1864.

This was a hasty and stupid mistake that I will try to keep from making another blunder in the future. I was so thrilled to see this site that I failed to read some notes (from others) that I had. I confess that I am confused but I do believe that the service record of all three is correct.

Thank you for your kind remarks in calling my attention to these very stupid mistakes.
