Those Picketts, Butts and Floyds are all mixed in and intertwined in my Family. Abner Pickett is found in Barbour Co. AL 1870 at 25 years old. (Born 1845 as you said) married to Sarah (That would be Sarah Butts as you mentioned) In the dwelling next to them is Philip Butts (Phillip Adam Butts), who is also a child of Charles Butts and Sarah's brother. He's married to Mary. (This would be Mary Jane Beaty who was daughter of Henry Beaty and Martha Lott).

Another sister of Sarah Butts Pickett is Lydia L. Butts who was married to William Richard Bounds Co. H . 39th AL. He was brother of Stephen Henry Bounds also of Co. H who was married to Narcisse Lott, half sister of Martha Lott who was Phillip Butts' wife's mother. And also, sister of Henry W Lott of Co. H, 39th AL..

As you said, Sarah Butts was previously married to Joseph Floyd who was killed. His brother was Theophilus Floyd also of Co. H 39th AL. who died at Chickamauga (see Chickamauga to Marietta thread). Theophilus was married to Elizabeth Bounds, sister of Stephen Henry Bounds and Wiiliam Richard Bounds who married Lydia Butts, sister of Sarah Butts, wife of Abner Pickett.

Now the rest of the Pickett connection. While by 1870, Abner Pickett has his own household in Barbour County, 70 year old George Pickett has remarried to a young woman named Artemissa. This is Artemissa Lott, another sister of the Lotts mentioned above. Artemissa lost her previous husband Stephen Driggers.

By 1880, the 80 year old George "G.P." Pickett and Artimissa are listed in Bossier parish Louisiana where many of the other previously mentioned families moved. Abner Pickett stayed in Barbour County in 1880.
