Robert T. Scott (Jr.) was born in 1811 according to census records. "When the Civil War occurred, Mr. Scott was too old to fight in it but he gave money and supplies to the Confederacy. His house was burned and looted by Union bands. He died on June 18, 1863."
Also note, though, that he had a son Robert T. Scott (III) who was born in 1837...just the right time frame for Civil War service.
