Hello!

Discovered that Captain Porter King is one of my ggg-uncles, (his sister is my ggg-gmother, his dad was one of my gggg-grandfathers). Read on a site for Perry County Alabama that Captain King and Gen'l Bernard Bee were having a conversation wherein Bee made his famous pronouncement that gave Jackson his sobriquet of Stonewall. I am anxious to verify this assertion - remove the spectre of urban legend and self aggrandizement (political people then as now have been known to stretch things for personal gain..y'know). Any other references I've found online do not mention Capt. King or any others by name as to the company he was in at that moment - simply staff of 4th Alabama. Any ideas as to reputable places I can verify this?
