Re: Two Bounds brothers- Co. H, 39 Ala

Kevin: Younger Brother Osborn Jesse Bounds, age 18, is listed in the "Surgical and Medical History of the War of the Rebellion" as benig wounded and Captured at the second days Battle of Nashville, Tennessee on December 16, 1864. He was a POW in a Federal Hospital in Nashville were he died of Disease and not his wound on Feb. 2, 1865.

All CSA Soldies who died in Nashville during the War were originally buried in Nashville's Old City Cemtery. They were all moved in 1869 to Confederate Circle, Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee. They are buried in 13 circular trenches extending around the base of the Large Confederate Monument in the Middle of Confederate Circle. There were originally no markers for these approximately 1500 men but over the years family and conducted research and along with other associations, have placed VA flat markers around the monument to Honor their Confederate Ancestors buried there.

I hope this is of some assistance to your research. If you have any question let me know.

Sincerely,
Tim Burgess
