Re: 36th ala. vol.
My g-g grandfather and 4 brothers served in Co. F. One was killed at Chickamauga on 22 September 63 as was a brother-in-law. One uncle was captured at Missionary Ridge and survived a federal prison. He lies in Cemetery # 2 at the Confederate Home in Chilton County. Another was wounded at New Hope Church and when recovered served with the 42nd Ala. Another was wounded at Franklin Pike and my g-g grandfather was wounded and captured at Spanish Fort. He was sent to Ship Island, survived the ordeal and was a widower when he enlisted. He survived 2 wives after war and married for the last time at 66 years of age and had three additional children. I vaguely remember the last wife. This may be why there are so many Staceys in south Alabama. Which company did your ancestor serve?
