Alan, Florida's records are extremely fragmentary for 1861-1865, but I will be in Tallahassee later this week, so I will take a look. It is interesting that Florida units went to Pensacola via that same railroad. The railroad across Florida had not been completed so the First Florida Infantry left the arsenal at Chattahoochee, went up the Chattahoochee River by steamboat to Columbus, caught the train there and rode over to Montgomery, then caught another train and rode down from Montgomery to Pensacola.
