It is a shame for anybody to damage any cemetery, whether it be a large city cemetery, or an old family cemetery located on a long forgotten dirt road in the middle of nowhere. But sadly we see this type of vandalism more and more especially when it concerns our Confederate Veterans. To answer your question, Yes there are laws against such actions. The really bad thing is there is never anything done about it, most times it is simply forgotten or pushed back on someone's desk to be done"another day". If it were not for the SCV and the UDC, I cannot imagine the condition some cemeteries would be in today!
