Yes, that particular passage has always painted quite a picture in my mind. The ingenuity of employing a frying pan in that way has always impressed me.

I also love Col. Oates' description of Gen. Baker's eccentricities, in particular how he led his men headlong into a charge at Bentonville because he was worried about a stray swamp rabbit bringing him bad luck! <http://www.abama37th.com/History-i.htm>
