I agree - even if the two regiments (47th and 15th) were in perfect alignment going up the west side of Big Round Top, when they wheeled left to descend, the 47th Alabama would have had a shorter distance to travel and thus were first to emerge into view of the Federals posted on Little Round Top. The 15th Alabama followed, extending the line to the right as the companies came down into their proper position. From the 20th Maine's perspective, the Confederates were moving toward their left. That reminds me of the movie, Gettysburg; the first Confederates to make their appearance in the right front of the 20th Maine would have been soldiers of the 47th Alabama.
