Re: North Sumter rifles Lt AG Weston

I also found that A. G's wife Georgianna never filed for a pension. I find that very strange. On the 1880 Census of Fairfield Pickens County AL. she lists herself as a widow, head of household, farming with one son at home John M who was my Great Grandfather. Weston is not spelled correctly on the census maybe the fault of the census person who spelled it Western. I known that is wrong because I have A. G. Weston's graduation paper work from the medical college in Charleston. All of the paper work spells the last name as Weston.

Another thing that seems odd to me is that he would be listed at the rank of Private since he had a medical degree. It's a mystery to me why he would not use his education when there was so much illness among the troops.

My next step is to call the Library in Livingston AL. The library has some folders on the Weston family. Maybe that will help solve this mystery. I may have to travel back to Alabama.

Your help with the timeline is greatly appreciated.
