I didn't know there were any "real" Sons of Confederate Veterans still living. It sort of makes the Civil War seem not quite so far away, doesn't it?
The closest I've ever come to the war was through my grandpa, who vividly remembered the stories his grandpa told him when he was a boy. My grandpa passed those stories on to me in such a way as to make the war seem up close and personal.
