Re: gg uncle Jeptha Daniel Armstrong, CSA, POW

On the family side, This Judith Williams is likely out of the Hansford Williams who married Cybthia McDonald.and lived in Crawford, Sebastian, Montgomery Counties.
James A. Williams had a store at Hackett Ar.[Crawford Co.,I think] then a newspaper at Ft. Smith, called,"The Horse shoe."
This is the man in whose home I found Joseph Vaughn[aka Frank James]. Of course we all know Frank and Jesse were with Quantrell, and Civil War Guerillas]
Hamp Williams of Hot Springs knew Henry Ford, had the first Ford agency there. He knew Presidents, [A wreath was sent to his funeral by the President.]
There are Armstrongs in the Smith,Standridge,Meeks families in my families in Newton Co. Ark.
See also, T.T.Turner [lived along the Johnson Co and Newton Co.lines]whose step daughter married William James there.[They lived in Johnson Co. too, right on the lines of Newton/Johnson] I think some burials are in Hignite Cem. Johnson Co.
You can follow the Hansford Williams family to California where a member owned the land where [it is said] a Mr Marshall discovered gold. They are fixing the old house up, it is on the National historic list of famous places
Hamp Williams discovered a very rich gold mine in Tulare Co. Ca., Sold it to David Bice James, called "Brigham." ,Lou Kilgore
