I never thought about it that way. I appreciate it! I thought it was odd that he seemed to fall through the cracks.
In such a situation would he have been buried in a cemetery, left as dead, or just buried where he fell? I see there was a big push back to Van Buren about that time so I have checked online cemetery records and found nothing.
