Re: a question re: J. Pruitt, and kin

Hello, because your ancestor was a Pruitt with the 8th, I just have to ask.
In the 8th Arkansas CSA was my ggg grandfather Jerimah D. Pearce who had joined in Independence County along with some of his cousins.
Sgt. J. D. Pearce was one of a handful to make it back from the Civil War as the 8th Arkansas suffered such heavy losses.
(In fact, in Michigan there is a re-inactor group that calls itself the 8th Arkansas because the 8th fought so bravely.)
Pearce was originally from Mifflin. Tenn. close to where the Battle of Shiloh was fought. When he was wounded, his brother came and picked him up and took him home so he was able to recover from his wound.
After the war ended, he married Mary Green Pruitt/Prewitt in Tennessee and then returned to Arkansas prior to 1870. She was called an orphan and raised by a Dr. Green I think it was. A Rev. Green Bell performed the marriage ceremony.
I cannot help but wonder if all of this connects some how.
Do you have any additional information on this Jerimah Pruitt out of White County? Was he Arkansas born or did his family come out of Tenn?
Could it have been that our ancestors knew each other?
I have searched quite a bit and never picked up a clue on what would have surely been Pruitt connections. If you can help, please feel free to write me directly.
Thanks for any input.
Linda
