I had noticed the date "problem" in my research as well. I also cannot find any record of his burial in Columbus, MS. One thing I know for sure, the name Pruitt was always being mispelled Pruett. I think that must have happened quite often. If it was 1864, not really sure what he was doing near Columbus. Thanks for your efforts. David
