Longview, Ar. is located in Ashley Co., on the Saline River Between Southern Bradley and Ashley Co.

The Skirmish at Longview March 29th,1864 was a lighting raid by Union Cavalry deep into South Arkansas in order to destroy a Pontoon Bridge at that Location and cut off confederate supplies and re-enforcements from oppossing Steele's Camden Expedition.

The site of the engagement is at present unmarked, However, efforts are underway at this time to place a Brick and Granite Historical Marker, and informational panel at the site by the Southeast Arkansas Civil War Heritage Trails Association by the end of this year or early next year.
