I did find one of W. T. Martin's letters where he stated that the 35 wagons were burned in "Uncle John G. Martin's creek bottoms. The only problem here is John G. Martin owned over 600 acres on both sides of the Saline River so the search goes on. My goal in this is to establish the location of the Longview Pontoon Bridge.
