Harold, thanks for the information on James Polk Hicks. I found him on the rolls of the 27th Arkansas, but didn't know that he was William's brother. Also found a reference to his service in Jackman's Missouri Cavalry -- I'll add that to his record when we post the 27th Arkansas rosters. He also applied for a Confederate pension from Arkanss. If you decide to order his pension record, let me know, and I'll look up the details for you.
