I can't speak directly of any camp or fortification south of Tulip and I am not sure what time period you are interested in. However as we all know that Tulip was a crossroads community in Dallas County and therefore important, including the location of the Arkansas Military Academy. That is common knowledge.

However, after the fall of Little Rock and Pine Bluff in September and October Tulip became a forefront on the battleline. We know from the OR's that Princeton was raided in October 1863 by Union Cavalry from Pine Bluff under Powell Clayton, Which was one of the things that prompted Maradukes raid on Pine Bluff on October 25th, 1863.

Maraduke's Pine Bluff Raid was assembled in the Princeton and Tulip area. While. I have only limited reasoning evidence of this, I suspect that at least 1 brigade of Maradukes striking force were assembled at Tulip and moved on the Princeton to Benton Road north and then turned east on the Benton to Pine Bluff Road to attack Pine Bluff directly from the west.

If there were extensive camps or fortifications in the Tulip area I would suspect that this is the period of time that you are interested in, as both Tulip and Princeton would have been vital for the Confederates to control the Union Cavalrys movements to the southwestern part of the State. And Claytons Princeton Raid would have demonstrated this need.
