I've theorized that some of the Arkansas State Troops officers later commanded companies organized for service in the Indian Territory, but I've never had the time to pursue that line of research. So I'm glad you're looking into that. I know that lots of individual AST soldiers served in the Indian Territory, but, again, I haven't had the time to discern any pattern. I ran across some of Captain Titsworth's men in the Indian Territory. But then, most of Captain Griffith's men later served in the 17th Arkansas Volunteers east of the Mississippi, so it's hard to find any rhyme or reason to what happened after the State Troops disbanded.
Lars, why don't you post some stuff from time to time, as it relates to Arkansas boys in the Indian Territory? It would sure help me and others tie up some loose ends.
