Thanks, that clears a lot. So, the information that we have regarding Francis Marion Musgrave being sick in the hospitol w/ dysenterry at Little Rock would be coming from his superior's records, and not hospital records? At the Ft. Smith library (before photo-copying was available-tellin my age)I remember pulling information regarding F.M Musgrave from a hospital log book. It contained soldier's names, affliction, & date in the hospital. Would this information have been compiled from service records & placed in that book? No, I can't tell you the publisher, etc. or even the name of the book, at the time Francis Marion was not a priority. Regrets, regrets. I think it must have come from micro-film bc it was written in script & was very similar to other documents of that time period.
I assumed if Milley had applied for a pension regarding Benton, it would have been denied due to him not being on any rosters, but maybe the denied file, if completed by Milley, could shed some light on his rank, unit, etc when she filled out for the pension. ??
I e-mailed Bryan a transcription of the letter Anderson wrote to Milley in Nov 1864 from Little Rock. Hopefully, I sent it to his current address. I thought it might help you guys w/ piecing stuff together regarding Little Rock & Sevier/Polk area. It has a lot of good information. I don't believe I have your current e-mail, or I would have sent it to you too. I know how you like letters. Thanks for all the help! I really do appreciate it.
